My First Ipsy Bag!!!

Hey lovelies!

Sorry I didn't put this up last night as promised, I actually went to bed a bit early :-)

So, I was looking around for a good monthly beauty box/bag to order. I want to get more into make-up and other health and beauty products. I'm not very good at make-up and don't know what I'm doing when it comes to buying it. I opted for two companies, Birchbox, and this one Ipsy (formerly My Glam). They are both $10 a month with free shipping.

My Ipsy bag is the first to arrive and below is what the packaging looked like. It came in a pretty hot pink foil/bubble wrap. I liked the color, but not the bag too much, but hey, what does it really matter right?

Inside the package was this cute little black and white pouch. This is nice to carry make-up or other small items in. There were five items inside.
The first is a Lip Bomb Glossy Lacquer Stain by Mirenesse. It is a pretty red color, but wait, the surprise is that it is mint scented!  It's a full sized one too which is cool because on the Mirenesse site this is a whoping $39!!! I haven't yet tried it because I don't wear red lips, not sure how that would look on me. So, I don't want to play with it in case I want to give it away :-)
The second item is this lovely eyeliner by Be A Bombshell Cosmetics. This little baby is called Onyx and it's pretty neat. The applicator is like a marker, with a nice point. This is gonna make a nice cat eye! The price of this on their site is $14, yay!!!. I like this a lot!
Next up is The Balm What's Your Type? black mascara in the Body Builder. They have on their site that this is supposed to be a long-lasting, smudge proof formula that won't clump. When I pulled it out the tube it was already kind of clumpy, but that's cool, its a really good value too. This goes for $19 on the Balm's website.
The fourth item I received is Pequi Oil by Couture Colour. This seems like another CHI, Morrocan, or Biosilk oil. I've tried all of them and they all seem to work the same for me, I put it on my wet hair and blow dry. Right now I'm using the Morrocan Oil. I'm gonna see what this is like. This is the .5 oz size and it sells for $12 at Sephora.
The last item is this Coastal Scents set of four eyeshadow sample. There colors are, Virbrant Red, Frosty Taupe, Vanilla Sky,and Raisen Berry. I'm not too sure about these either, so I'm not gonna play in them just yet. These are pretty cheap though. Right now they are having sale on eye palettes, you can get a 252 ultimate palette for $19.95.
Overall, my first Ipsy experience was a very good one.Yay!!!! The lip balm itself is worth well over the $10 cost for the monthly subscription. Also, I got some things that I would never think of buying, maybe the price, maybe the colors. I think this is a good way for me to try some new things and experiment. Plus, I got a cool little bag too. So, I'll see what happens next month and share with you all!

Are you an Ipsy subscriber? Do you have any of these products? I'd love to hear what you think and any tips or tricks you can share!

Lots of love!!!

  1. I love the "marker" eyeliners. We have a similar product here in South Africa, and because I'm a quick, foundation, mascara eyeliner kinda gal, I found it quick and easy..... high five!

until it smudged so badly! I gave racoon eyes a new meaning... not cute

Rock out and enjoy it with love! I've been blogging now for a little more than two months. I'm so honored that you all check in with me and have enjoyed what I've been doing so far. In celebration of YOU, I want to do my second giveaway! Just in time for Halloween, I'm giving away the OPI So So Skullicious mini set with decals. I first heard about this set from the lovely  Nails Beautiqued . She did some amazing swatches of these four polishes and I just had to have them, you can check out her review here ! I ordered the set for $6.80 from Amazon, but then my sister gave me the same set yesterday as an early birthday present (October 22nd)! So, I'm sharing the love with you. Here's how its going down, lol. I will be using Rafflecopter to pick the winner. The give...

La Couleur Couture Nail Lacquer 1964 Hermes Orange

I ordered this polish through Hautelook last week sometime. I was interested in it because I haven't heard of this brand before, but then again, there are a lot of brands I still have yet to try! This brand is 3-free and vegan friendly. The price tag was a little pricey for me at $9.00, but it was discounted from what the price will normally be at $16, so I went for it. They had some pretty colors and I really couldn't decide which one to get. I like the way they name the colors, they are named after years. I opted for 1964. Hautelook called it 1964 Hermes Orange. It's a thick and creamy orange, the color reminds me of pumpkin pie, umm LOL. I fell in love with it surprisingly and am sure I will wear it a lot, it's a great orange for the fall. It applied very nicely, not streaky, here I used two coats.  I tried to capture the color in different light, but I'm not good at taking pics, sorry, lol. Hopefully, you can see it well. I'm not sure when and where it will...

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hey Lovelies!!! There are many things going on throughout the year to educate and raise awareness about breast cancer. Philadelphia held a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in May and will hold a 3-day walk on October 5th-7th. However, October is designated as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there are some cool things going on in the blogosphere, where you can get involved and show your support. I posted last week about the  Beauty By Krystal  Cosmetics Donation Bin for Breast Cancer. She will be collecting donations up until the holidays. Check her out if you can! April, at Glitter Gloss Garbage is hosting 30 Days of Pink for the Cure challenge. Each day you can post a link of yourself wearing pink. It can be anything, makeup, clothing, or polish. You can post whenever you can, it doesn't have to be daily.  I'll be participating in this throughout the month. If you'd like to participate click on the picture below. Hope ...
